Day 27/365 — Hidden Gems in Gotanda: Where Food Meets Spirituality

Day 27 brought me to Gotanda, a neighborhood that perfectly blends Tokyo's culinary scene with its spiritual heritage. The highlight? An incredible Chinese restaurant where the food and beer were exceptional — the kind of place that reminds you why street exploration matters.

But the real magic came at Shinagawa Shrine. I met Akiko, who generously shared stories and context about the shrine's significance. These moments of connection transform a simple visit into something meaningful. I also met Mike, a Taiwanese gentleman, whose perspective added another layer to the day.

This is what I love about photography and travel — it's never just about the image. It's about the people you meet, the places you discover, and the stories that unfold. Whether you're exploring Tokyo or Taiwan, these connections are what make the journey unforgettable.

If you're interested in capturing moments like these through your lens, I offer photography workshops in Taiwan, global and online mentoring, and you can support my daily 365 project on Patreon.
