15 Minutes at Tiangong Temple – Capturing Taiwanese Traditions with My f8 & Be There Preset
How much of a place’s soul can you capture in just 15 minutes? I set out to find out at Tiangong Temple (天公廟) in Fongshan, Kaohsiung. Armed with my trusty Ricoh GR III, the new DJI Action 5 Pro, and my personal f8 & be there preset, I challenged myself to create meaningful images under serious time pressure.
Tiangong Temple, dedicated to the Jade Emperor, is a place where incense coils hang heavy in the air, colors burst from intricately carved pillars, and worshippers move through ancient rituals that have been performed for generations. This 15-minute sprint forced me to stay present, look deeper, and trust my instinct — all while keeping an eye on the ticking clock.
The star of the day? My f8 & be there preset. It gave every shot a punchy, timeless feel that made the light and atmosphere come alive. The preset’s subtle contrast and tonal tweaks helped emphasize the rich reds, golds, and shadows of the temple, turning fleeting moments into images I’m proud of.
