Reflections of a Coming Typhoon -

Tonight I stepped outside my apartment in Lingya just as the first bands of Typhoon Danas rolled in.  Grey skies pressed low; every shop-front sign burned brighter in the gloom.  I love how rain turns a familiar street into a film set—reflections double the neon, cars glide rather than drive, and pedestrians hurry past like extras between takes.

Shooting stills on the Fujifilm X-Pro2, I leaned into its Classic Chrome look to emphasize the cool tones while letting the reds and greens of traffic lights pop.  For motion, the DJI Action 5 Pro handled gusty drizzle without complaint—small, stable, and easy to wipe dry between shots.

Moments before the heavier sheets arrived, I caught the scene in this post’s hero frame: twin rows of headlights paused at the intersection, their light stretching across slick asphalt.  It’s a photograph about anticipation—of wind, of rain, and of a city collectively holding its breath.

However Danas unfolds, I hope these images remind us that beauty hides even in uneasy weather.  Stay safe out there and, if you venture out, pack a lens cloth.
