Day 1: Tokyo in Motion

Location: Ikebukuro, Tokyo

Camera Gear: Leica D-Lux 8, Ricoh GR III

I landed in Tokyo this afternoon and wasted no time hitting the streets. The energy was immediate—fast, layered, and full of contrasts. My goal was simple: walk, observe, and document.

The journey from Kaohsiung to Narita was smooth, and by the time I made it to Ikebukuro, the city had already started unfolding in moments:

– A boy balancing a bottle like a magician.

– A packed train carriage full of lives brushing past each other.

– A mannequin dressed sharper than most commuters.

– Lovers leaning in, unaware of the crowd.

– Silhouettes slicing through light like a stage play outside a ZARA store.

Some photos are crisp and deliberate. Others were grabbed instinctively as the city moved around me. I wanted to preserve that raw energy—the mundane and magical side by side.

There’s no better way to begin than with movement.
