Luzhu’s Quiet Streets Through My Leica

Yesterday, I took the local train north to Luzhu, a small town that feels almost paused in time. The goal was simple: let the town reveal itself one frame at a time.

With my DJI Pocket 3 chest-mounted, I recorded the entire walk in POV style. It felt immersive—like bringing you along for every step, every glance, every decision. I carried both my Leica and Ricoh GR III, but the Ricoh stayed in the bag; every shot I took was with the Leica.

The streets of Luzhu were calm. Small shops opened lazily, locals moved with a quiet purpose, and narrow alleys offered endless moments waiting to be discovered. It’s the kind of place where details whisper instead of shout: a crooked sign, a weathered door, a cat slipping between parked scooters.

Every frame reminded me why I love walking with a camera in hand—no plan, no rush, just curiosity guiding my steps.

Getting There

I took the local train to Luzhu. It’s a short ride but just far enough to feel like you’ve stepped away from the city’s usual rhythm. The station is small, and from there, it’s easy to wander straight into the heart of town.

Reflections

Luzhu isn’t a tourist destination, and that’s exactly what makes it special for photography. It’s an everyday town, full of unnoticed stories. POV shooting here felt right—I hope the video captures that sense of unhurried exploration.

If you enjoy quiet walks through lesser-known corners of Taiwan, Luzhu might be a perfect place for your own photo walk.
